Musings of a Crackpot

I’m about to head to the airport and hop on a plane to the beach. Yes i know that i already live at the beach but i’m heading south to San Diego for the weekend! I’m going to meet up and hang out with my older brother. It will be the first time that I’ve seen him since i left tennessee in august.

damn you woot, you and your damn enticing woot deals! I have bought blue tooth headsets, a mini-dv camcorder, 2 hard drives, and 4 flash drives. The flash drives i didn’t even need! But tonight they really got me, i just bought an iriver mp3 player. 20 GB for 169, how i’ll just have to hack the firmware, which i have read really opens up the ability of this particular model of iriver, the h10 .

I went out and saw underworld: evolution this evening with aaron. Overall the movie wasn’t bad, just rather predictable. The part i wasn’t expecting was the trailer for Silent Hill. Let me tell you, the silent hill series is the scariest video game series that i’ve ever played!! The trailer seems to be right in the lines of the game series, the storyline seems to be really similar and some of the shots in the trailer are exactly from the game. Let me tell you, i got the creeps!! If i wasn’t so fricked out i would definitely go and see it, and i still might:-)

yep i seem to have broken things after all. My page that contains my stats for DDR is gone it seems. Oh well, I’ll work on it later.

ok, i just updated the backend of my site from wordpress 1.5 to 2.10. so far i haven’t broken anything yet, which is always a good thing. the admin layout is a bit different. i don’t quite like it but maybe i’m missing part of my install. I’m not sure.

it’s basketball time, i’m vegging on the couch and watching the beginning of the all star weekend. Tonight there is the shooting stars challenge, the skills competition, the 3 point shootout, and the grand finale, the slam dunk contest.

The slam dunk contest has always been the highlight of the NBA all star weekend. From spud webb, domique wilkins, MJ, even further back to Dr. J in the ABA and even the most recent champions Vince Carter, Kobe, Josh Smith, I just love watching people fly through the air, twisting, spinning, creating…it’s just amazing. I can dunk so i vaguely, vaguely know what it’s like flying through the air, escaping gravity for the briefest of times. It an incredible feeling so i can only imagine what it’s like to be able to just float, gliding along, creating art in the span of seconds.

I’ve been cleaning up somewhat today. I unpacked a huge box of letters, basically every letter or card that i’ve ever recieved since i started college. It was definitely a trip down memory lane. Reading letters made me really miss some of my friends and i really need to make a stronger effort to get back into touch with people. I’ve been lucky enough to met and befriend some incredible people in my life. i’m a lucky bastard;-)
