Birthday Celebration Jubilee!

It’s my birthday today! It’s also Janet’s birthday today, so it’s been a big birthday celebration weekend. Yesterday was the beginnings with a visit to Hakone Gardens. It was great, i had been wanting to go and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Of course, me being me, i ended up buying stuff at the gift shop and am thinking about becoming a member and looking into perhaps taking some of the meditation classes that are offered there. After the Gardens, the adventure connected and we went to Japantown in San Jose. While it’s not as big as the Japantown in San Francisco, it’s still got lots of neat little shops and I ended up buying a transformers and perusing the grocery shop which i always love to do. After Japantown, we were off to San Bruno for the grand finale of the day, Cleo’s! I ate so much, it was frickin delicious!

Today i got the meat of my birthday gifts, UMD movies for my PSP and a Nintendo DS lite! I had been wanting one forever so it was an awesome gift. I also received online birthday wishes from many friends and even an unexpected one that really made my morning. Then I took Janet out for her birthday breakfast, swung by Gamestop and used a birthday giftcard to get games for my DS and then surprised Janet by getting her a DS for her birthday! I had already gotten her a piece of art that I thought that she would like and a mini wine cellar so it was a good birthday all around. Later tonight we went and saw You Don’t Mess with The Zohan It was pretty funny overall, and some of the scenes are just hilarious! Overall it’s definitely been a great birthday weekend.

Moving time…

Finally got moved into the new place. It’s been a hectic month, but things are finally slowing down, i hope. This new place is definitely different. It’s bigger, but it’s further from the beach, but it’s got redwoods, but it’s not no fenced in backyard, but it’s got a creek running behind the house, but it’s got a tweaker for a landlord, but it’s got a sweet deck on the back. This is how i view things lately….overall I’m happy with this new place thou. Just another chapter in life, and another new adventure!

Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV can not come out soon enough. I really hope that it comes out in the arcades, maybe it can be the game that revives the arcade scene. As for home consoles, i’m definitely hoping that it comes out for the PS3 since it’s the only ‘next-gen’ system that i have at the moment.

FURminator

Today I purchased a Furminator for Stoli. As always with things i see advertised on tv, I was skeptical it would work anything near as well as it was advertised. Well after today’s first session with it let me say how surprised I am about its performance. Since Stoli’s a mix his hair doesn’t get quite as tangled as a full-bodied wolfhound and it tends to be a little shortish, however the Furminator tool took off sooo much loose hair! I was definitely amazed. Well worth the investment!

Air Travel Sucks

I’ve been trying to make it back home and got into the Greensboro Airport at 3 EST, it’s not almost midnight EST and i’m only as far west as Chicago. It’s been a truly long and miserable day. No real explainations for why my flight have been delayed and I’m not going to get to fly out of here until 1 CST unless there is another delay. I just want to get home and lay in my own bed for a few hours before i have to get up and bang out some code.

I was surfing the web today and ran across Rod Benson He’s a dude trying to make his way into the NBA and happens to have his own blog, which is the funniest thing that I’ve read in a long long time. Here’s a link to an article about a fateful night out clubbing in SF. I’m definitely going to add his site to my list of blogs that i read, and I hope that he manages to make his way into the league.

Rakim, Ghostface Killa, Brother Ali

Just getting back from an awesome show at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz. It was my first time getting to see Rakim perform and that just made my evening. The guy is so instrumental to the development of rap and to just hear him perform was spectacular. Ghostface put on a good show and made sure to hit a few Wu-Tang classics and gave a shout-out to ODB as well. I had never heard of Brother Ali before but i really liked him. Apparently his album, Undisputed Truth, is coming out soon. I’m going to try and remember to buy it.
