Whirlwind
Life’s been really busy as of late. The new job has me working a ton of hours, yet it doesn’t feel like a heavy burden like my last job felt. This company and this product definitely has a bright future and makes me excited to see the progress in development and see the partners and partnerships that we are lining up. One new aspect is that I will get to do some flex and AS3 development. I’m excited about this. I’ve been looking and hoping to find a position that will allow me to increase my knowledge base and skill set and this seems to be just what i was looking for.
The rest of life has been really busy of late. I’ve been falling in and out of touch with people, trying to keep up with how everyone is doing, trying to enjoy my own life and trying to make sure that my web of friends stays connected. I’ve got the travel bug itching at me again but i don’t know where i want to go. I don’t have the urge to go to Atlanta again just yet, I would like to visit my friends up in the northeast but it’s cold there and I don’t particularly like the cold so I think that I’m going to pass on that. Part of me wishes that i could just up and relocate to somewhere in the Pacific. I’m still sure that there is an inland there with my name on it.
Anyone have any good suggestions for a good vacation spot, perferably somewhere close to Santa Cruz? It doesn’t have to be within driving range but maybe somewhere that’s a cheap flight away that would make for a good weekend trip? All suggestions are welcome in the comments.
goodBack from a trip
I’m back on the mainland. I went on a 5 day trip to Hawaii. My first trip and definitely not my last. I survived a 6.7 earthquake, well actually it was on the Big island and i was on Oahu but still, it threw a monkey wench in part of my vacation. Quite a few of momentious events occurred as well. Perhaps I’ll update with those later. By the way, I love flying first class, legroon shouldn’t cost an extra 300 bucks but in this case it was definitely worth it.

It feels really good to get to think again, to actually develop something as opposed to patching up broken ideas/code and working hard to make things dumber for people to use. I like getting to pitch ideas around, work together with people, learn from people and create new and exciting stuff. It’s been far too long. I’m glad to be an engineer again.
Other than the enjoyment of the new job, i’ve been in a funk as of late…I’m hoping that my trip to Hawaii that starts next week helps fix it, but right now I’m not tooo optimistic at the moment..
It’s been a long time..
since i’ve updated. A lot has happened since my last update. I am no longer an employee of Creative Explosions, Inc (CE). I happen to think the less said about that the better. However I may do a full writeup about those experiences at a later date. Today was my first day at my new job as a UI Engineer for 4HomeMedia. I’m extremely excited about both the new job and my new co-workers. I definitely think that this opportunity has a ton of potential.
I spent a long weekend in Atlanta last weekend. On my agenda was the Anime Weekend Atlanta convention and catching up with old friends. I was successful on both fronts. It was really good to see everyone and to reconnect with some special friends and reminicse about my college days.
My goal this week is to do a much more detailed update of how my last month as been and to really improve my blog so it’s more interesting to read. However for now i think that i’m going to try to sleep since I have to be up in about 6 hours for work.
