Flex 2, Flash Player 8.5

Posted in Flash, Programming by T on the November 6th, 2005

I’m slowly trying to get my feet wet with Flex2, Flash Player 8.5, and Actionscript3. I finally got a successful download today and walked through all the quickstart tutorials that came with the Flex standalone. I’ve learned about MXML and the Flex builder IDE as well. I think that I’ll continue learning tomorrow and get into the AS3 fun. I’m rather excited about all that AS3 holds, it’s just a lot for me to digest at the moment.

However here is a quick example of what can be made in using MXML. While it’s nothing earth shattering, it’s still pretty neat. Mmm, I just realized that you would have to have Flash Player 8.5 installed to see anything. That can be downloaded from here. Just download the flexbuilder alpha, it has the flash player 8.5 included.

Well it’s rather late and I think that i’m going to run over to Denny’s and get a piece of chocolate cake and then head to bed, yep there is much DDR in my future
